Newborn Checklist: Everything You Need Before Your Baby Arrives

In today’s society it isn’t easy to have a baby as most couples don’t have time for it. In addition, everything’s expensive nowadays. A minimum wage earner may not be able to fully support the needs of his/her child. Moreover, they’re considered to be a burden than a blessing. However, if you’re able to have a child, consider yourself lucky.

They can give you a sense of responsibility, and help you relieve stress, to name a few. If you’re a new parent, prepping up for your baby’s arrival can be quite scary. But once you get to hold your baby in your arms, your pain and fear will turn into joy and contentment right away. Before your baby arrives, make sure to have this newborn checklist at hand.

Diapering

Changing your baby’s diaper can be difficult at first. But you’d get the hang of it later on. Remember your baby’s diaper may need to be changed up to 12 times a day, so make sure to shop for your baby’s diapering needs. There are two types of diaper: cloth and disposable. If you go for the latter, add diapers, diaper bag, and diaper rash cream to your cart. But if you have a small budget, you can go for the former as you can wash them every after use.

Clothing

Baby clothes are an essential item for your newborn. If you don’t have any plans to have another baby, make sure to only shop for a few pieces of onesies, one-piece pyjamas, pants, socks, and sweaters, to name some. If you want something soft, durable, and non-toxic include an organic cotton for baby. They are the perfect choice as they’re safe to wear.

Baby Bath

Giving your newborn a bath can be scary, but with the right gear, it’d be a smooth task for you. These are the baby bath essentials that you need: baby bathtub, baby shampoo, hooded baby towels, and soft washcloths. You can buy the portable type, which can make bathing easier for you and your little one.

Baby Gear

Invest in baby gear for your newborn, whether you’re staying at home or heading to a nearby beach or park. Have a baby carrier, car seat or convertible car seat, and stroller. With regard to the latter, there are factors you have to keep in mind: How much is your budget? What are the add-ons included in the stroller? Where are you going to use it? How often will you use it?

Play Gym

A play gym is necessary as it will allow you to do some household chores. Go for the musical type of gym as it can help put your baby to sleep.

Feeding Essentials

You have to feed your baby around the clock. So, shop for feeding essentials – whether you’re breastfeeding or not. Include baby formula, bibs, bottles, and bottle brushes. If you have a plan to breastfeed, shop for breast pads and breast pumps.

Furniture

Shop for baby furniture for your baby’s nursery room. Have a crib that’s safe and can stand the test of time.

Besides this list, you need health essentials for your baby, too.
